[Magdalen] Major athletic scandal

For some reason the phrase "Bread and Circuses" just came to mind...
Sports mania and fast food? Keeping us distracted and oblivious to the important thing we're losing?

Maybe because I watched "Wall-E" with my grandkids on Wednesday.
