Oh, by all means do so!!  It will make it more likely that they'll get
their heads out of their posterior and do what needs to be done.

Alternatively, she should say, "Oh, I so sorry to tell you this, but they
are dead."

My allergist had a number that was accidentally given out wrong, and the
folks receiving the call got tired of it and began telling whoever called,
"Oh, they've closed. Moved out of state."

Things got corrected so quickly! ! !
