I had a spate of wrong numbers.
Finally:
phone: "Ring ring!"
Me: Hello?
Victim: Is Steve there?
Me: Uh, no, he isn't.
V: Has he been there?
M: I don't think so.
V: Any idea when he'll be in?
M: Nope. No idea.
V: Well when was the last time you saw him?
M: I do not think I've ever seen him.
V: <pause> [obscenity]
(call ends.)
The wrong numbers also ended.
