The late Pascual Perez, a pitcher for the Atlanta Braves and a native of
the Dominican Republic, got his nickname of "I-285" by getting stuck on the
beltway that surrounds Atlanta and being 3 hours late to the ballpark when
he first came up with the team. He was quite a flamboyant character anyway
and that only added to his legend.
