My dear wife, who was a big Phillies fan in her youth, was just going
through old scrapbook last night and came upon several clippings from
Philadelphia papers of that game where Jim Bunning threw a perfect game that
June night in 1964.
OTOH, my mother was always a big Mets fan, even in the days of Marvelous
Marv Throneberry.

Not at all -- I've witnessed two no hitters (Koufax and Bunning beating the
Mets) and they are very exciting starting somewhere around the 7th inning.
And
the Ninth is simply astounding! Everyone on their feet and every twitch
bringing
a roar.
Somewhere in the pile I still have the scorecard I kept at Jim Bunning's
feat in
1964.
Cheers,
Jim
