Just re-read my message. AOL might be a convenient choice for you, as an end user, but (as the sign says) there are consequences of every choice. AOL users cause a lot of extra work for computer system administrators. I'm glad that you like AOL, but it is important that you understand that by choosing AOL and by using AOL to participate in email communities, you are increasing the workload and aggravation load of the technicians who build and operate those communities.
Most serious technical and professional discussion groups deal with the problem by not permitting aol.com subscriptions.
Just be aware that by choosing AOL for your email you are making various things more difficult for people you've never met and whose names you do not know. Know the consequences of your choice.
