Christ the King was such a big deal when I was young that I *still* make
an annual retreat then. It's the time when I wind up my prayer journal
for the year and transfer dates & notes to my prayer journal for the
coming year. A good time to review the year, to contemplate the sere
and silent landscape of early winter in New England.

Then Advent (and the new year) begins the next Sunday.
