On our way to Edinburgh years ago, the members of our early-music
ensemble compared Scottish ancestries. Suddenly everyone seemed to
have it to some extent. When they were all finished saying, "I'm X%
Scottish," I just said, "Well, I'm Scott." A soprano said, "And we're
going to your land: Scott-land." That helped me feel better.

Scott, not Scottish in the least (but would be glad to be if I were).
