Yes...our diocesan liaison botched her mission of convincing the search
committee early on that we were not getting any viable candidates so might
as well recommend the interim be hired. Her boss took over, with many
apologies. The candidate we chose was apparently a jaw-dropper for the
bishop, who of course approved.
