My experience was much like Susan's, Renee, and I wish the same for you. I
went to work in the morning at the hospital until 11:30, and then went
downstairs and checked in for the surgery which was at 1:30. My
sister-in-law picked me up at 4:30, and I was at my daughter's having a
spaghetti dinner with them by 6:00! Only when I got ready for bed did I
look at the discharge instructions which said to begin with clear liquids
and "advance as tolerated." I decided I had tolerated the spaghetti dinner
pretty well! The doctor said I should stay out until he saw me the
following Tuesday, but I went back to work on Monday and just didn't tell
him.
