[Magdalen] How do you buy a stove?

We alao had a cast-iron stove in the cellar (four burners), but we
never referred to it as a summer kitchen. It was for heating water.
Thhere were three soapstone set-tubs against the opposite wall.
It was a laundry setup, with a door out to the laundry yard (a large
space surrounded with standing lattice-work where laundry was
hung to dry).

Water for bathing was heated there, too, and brought upstairs in
the morning. Hard work carrying basins of hot water up two flights
of stairs.
