[Magdalen] Prayer pats needed

The worst pain is actually in the back of my head and it isn't constant. I
have recurrent neuralgia in an area just above and behind my left ear that
is the result of an auto accident when I was 25. I was in a VW bus that
rolled over down a hill and I am quite convinced that if I had not had my
seat belt on (lap belts only in the rear seats) I would not be here. I
cracked my head hard on the window frame and got a nasty concussion. No
fracture, but a pretty ugly laceration, and by the time I got to the
hospital ER it was so swollen that the best they could do (as far as I
remember) was pack it with gelfoam. I only remember that the doctor had a
very ill-fitting toupee and kept marveling that I was alive at all. Anyway,
that area is apparently at the end of the shingles-affected nerve and
everyonce in awhile it rises up and just gives me a ZOWIE of pain. Thank
heaven for good drugs. Except that the prednisone makes me absolutely
ravenous all the time, which is NOT a good thing!
