And, of course, this infighting is not unique to TEC.
 
An example is the downtown RCC where I cantored for 25 years.
A monsignor who had been pastor for 30 years left, and the new
pastor can't do anything right, if you are to listen to the  complaints.
 
He isn't helping matters by announcing he "hates the newly rebuilt
pipe organ," and resents the monies spent, even though that was
a separate fund that had no impact on the parish budget.  He has
instituted music-less Low Masses this summer to vent his displeasure.
This is just one facet of a complex situation.
 
There has been an exodus, and the weekly Mass attendance has
dropped from about 1,000 to 900 so far (5-Masses).  There are active  pro 
and
anti factions at work.
 
And so it goes.
