Though I often think of the Eucharist as the"Great Sacrament of  Disunity"
it was the focus of a healing event in my home town Methodist
congregation when the leaders of two divisive factions somehow knelt
side by side for communion.  It was one of the most electrifying  moments
I've ever had in church.  The rift did really heal.
