The response to this tragedy here in NE Pennsylvania USA has been to

Verbally, that is.  Chair Simon Salinas of the Monterey County  Board of 
Supervisors sent around a digital memo today about the San Bernardino  tragedy 
and our own safety as County employees, many of us working in anything  but 
secure environments.  It was very well-written, and struck the right  
chord, I think.
