Prescription is antibiotic (both oral and topical), and the standard "elevate your feet whenever you can", which I already do.  But getting rid of the infection, which has been there for some time, will no doubt relieve much of the other distressers.  So,... I will be lying low for the rest of this week, popping and applying my antibiotic, re-visiting the ER Saturday for a checkup, and generally not worrying too much anymore.  Diabetes is a possibility, but as I only know of one, maybe two extended family members over the span of my lifetime who had it, it's at least not the leading candidate.  I have an appointment with my regular doctor on Jan 11th, or even sooner if I can beg and plead for an earlier one.
