Bad story ... there was a parish that had a boys' choir.
And a fund (a huge one) established for their education.

That money was handed over to the rector to pay for his childrens'
private schools. As "scholarships" (thereby raising the rector's income
substantially while hiding his added income from the IRS). The choristers
and their parents were left to pound sand.
