My personal favorite sci-fi series.  J. Michael Straczinsky, who is  the
brainchild behind that series must be deeply spiritual himself, I  suspect
raised Roman Catholic, but not a practicing RC.  There are some
giveaways such as the use of the chant of the Third Mass of Christmas
in one episode.
 
There was to be a second spin-off series and a few episodes were
aired, but it faltered because Straczinsky was unwilling to add the
substantial dosage of sex requested by the network authorities.
 
I dearly wish this series would find itself back on one of the lesser
cable networks so I could refresh my memories.
 
I highly recommend it.
