A happy and Holy Christmas to all from deepest Derbyshire in England. I am back from our Crib Service which packed the church. The lead-up to Christmas has been one of very good congregations: the Carol Service at St John the Baptist Boylestone broke all records with probably 180 in church - which is almost beyond capacity. Despite the extra chairs in church, we still had standing room only. Even the vestry table was occupies by three people! The school nativity play at Church Broughton had the CXhurch filled to overflowing for the two performances with even the ringing gallery filled with people.
I look forward to the two "midnight" services (actually 10pm and 11.30p.m.) and tomorrow's services.
