Especially regarding job-related stuff, in my experience. When a
project gets crazy, I rely on my email stream as a checklist. If
someone phones me about something (this is getting rarer), I feel like
I have to type notes and put them into an email so that can be part of
the checklist as well. And on some projects where precision is
especially important, it's great to be able to go back and check what
I'm about to finish doing to make sure it fulfills what was actually
requested, in detail.
