And big big money can be riding on those referrals. I once was a bystander
during an argument between two surgeons (each of whom was hauling in
upwards of 500K). One recommended surgery. The second disrecommended.
The first turned to the second and roared, "You're taking the bread out of
my
children's mouths, Bob !!!"

Bob's retort was unprintable.
