Let's remember the permanent nature of Holy Orders.  Ordination is permanent, period.  Hence, the entire "independent movement" amongst Romans, Anglicans, and Orthodox.  I right now am officially recognised as a priest by no denomination.  But that doesn't make me not a priest.  I merely choose to be non-functional at this time.
