At the time of my son's graduation from the Wisconsin Law School, I  was
appalled at the drinking - even sanctioned with parties in the Law 
School Gardens on campus.  It was unforgettable at the UW-Madison 
graduation itself, held in the old Field House, to witness the amount  of
drinking by the graduates and in the stands by onlookers.
 
I wrote the Wisconsin Alumni Magazine about this pervasive drinking -
that did not exist to such an extent when I was a student there.  The  
letter
was published, and there was an enormous chorus of similar  experiences.
The University set upon some reforms as a result.



I remember witnessing a grand piano tossed out the second  floor window of 
a frat 
house -- maybe Sigma Nu )it's been a long  time).>>>>
 
I witnessed a similar tossing (of a large upright piano) from the upper  
deck of
one of the medical fraternities my senior year.  The piano narrowly  missed
a couple of cars driving by on busy Lake Street.
