It was lovely to read of a Listgiv arriving -- always an occasion of
celebration and gratitude!

So sorry about your car. It was hard for me to give up Celeste, my
beautiful Honda Accord that I bought in 2004 - but having lived her
earliest life in Miami (FL), and then in TN, I knew she would not like a
Buffalo winter. Having demanded a new battery for my 2013 Honda Fit
(bought new), I'm thrilled with how it's serving me in a more urban (and
much colder!) environment.

I also had a Kia for a short time, till it was totaled in 2004 prior to
buying Celeste. I loved it, too, though it had a standard transmission,
and I was glad to exchange that for automatic for mountain driving. Taking
off from a stoplight at a less-than 45-degree angle (facing uphill) with a
gearshift was quite a challenge. This little Fit is automatic, too -- but
if I ever buy another new car, I may well go for standard again. Shifting
gears makes one feel so useful!
