[Magdalen] shattered iPhone screen advice...

I have an iPhone 3...and in an Otterbox that I call the "rubber baby
buggy bumper." It puts the "U" in Ugly. But, in a rush one morning I set
it down, uncharacteristically, on top of my Fit, drove off, and turning
the corner onto the four-lane main drag into town, off it went into the
highway. As I saw it tumble off in my rear view mirror, and then go
under the wheels of all the cars behind me, I pulled to the shoulder,
certain it was a goner. The rubber has a few scrapes visible only on
close inspection. The phone was, and is, fine.
However, the thought of purchasing new "protection," chargers,
accessories, etc. has put me off upgrading, even were it 99-cents, as
this one was with a contract, and makes me even less fond of Apple than
I ever was, which, other than as a novelty, hasn't been much.
Peace,
Jo
