That's only if you're measuring water, and sugar has a different density -
namely ~1.6. However, that's for a solid crystal of sugar, and you're
measuring out a whole lot of crystals with air pockets in between, which
lowers the density. So - all in all, maybe your should figure around 6g of
sugar per teaspoon, not the 5g water per teaspoon the conversion gives you.
