Only visited Miami once, some years ago to visit a friend from grad school. 
He'd been transferred there, and complained that they "screened in their 
back yards and cultivated crab grass" (both of which were features of his 
house). Fortunately, he didn't live there long. I seem to recall that the 
only thing we saw in Miami was the zoo, which is good. If you had a car, you 
could go see the Everglades. Other than that ...

Next week we're going to Miami.  Any hints on what to do, where to eat,
etc.?  We'll take the hop-off-hop-on city tour, of course, and I definitely
want to see Little Havana, and maybe Little Haiti.  I saw a tour to Key
Biscayne available.  We won't have a car, are staying in an art-deco hotel
on Ocean Blvd. (Ave.?) in South Beach.  Can't wait.  Packing my bathing
suit RIGHT NOW.  Snowing here, and COLD.
