Reminds me that at the time of the infamous San Francisco Earthquake
in 1906, Saint Thomas Fifth Avenue in NYC was looking to raise the  funds
for a new church.
 
When they heard of the earthquake, and the destruction of the old  Grace
Cathedral in San Francisco, they turned over their construction funds
entirely to Grace.
 
This got in the NYC newspapers, and there was an immediate response
that allowed St. Thomas not only to go ahead with construction but to
build themselves that many feel is the most beautiful and sumptuous
parish church in the USA.
