and is temporarily inavailable.  I was charged $1.10 a shot for postcrds 
posted in Pittsburgh.  Some arrived in a week while othersd took two.  I 
noted that the stamps said "global surface mail" so I guess some caught 
the plane while others may have been on a ship. Looking at a different 
site http://postcalc.usps.com/ I see that $1.20 would have got me a 
(hopefully) faster service.

The weight is crucial $1.20 for a letter weighing an ounce, make it 2 oz 
and the price goes up to $2.21 so you need an accurate weight. The shape 
and size of the envelope also matters.
