Driving back to Atlanta in the morning - taking a different route (U.S. 29 south). Near Danville, I’ll pass the site of the wreck of Old 97, which really happened. Train 97 was the mail train and had a deadline to reach Spenser, NC, which was the reason for the increased speed - estimated up to 75 mph, not the 90 of legend. Jim didn’t make it.

I’ve had a good visit here in Charlottesville, seeing Didi again, and seeing Monticello with Matthew on Wednesday, a wonderful meet with Grace and Suzie and Didi. Today I did a few sundry things and had a last meal with Didi. I’ll hit the road sometime around 8:00 AM.

I’ll pick Marcy up late morning or early afternoon on Sunday.

Thank you for all your prayers and encouragement.

At her request I called and spoke to her social worker who said she’d figure it out and make whatever corrections are needed (IMO, probably none).

After we met with my cousin, Didi, for dinner (at Versace - excellent Italian cuisine). Matthew’s on his way back north now. While we were at dinner, Marcy called - unintentionally - but she sounded in good spirits and was happy to be able to chat a bit with Matthew.
