Howard Galley, of blessed memory, I think struck the right level of
detail in his enrichments of the BCP 1979 Office, such that I think
his Prayer Book Office fits the 1979 perfectly. As exasperated as I
sometimes am when hoping he'll have a perfect holy-day antiphon only
to find it's the general saints' day one, I think this restraint
befits the current office. That said, when I remember to take with me
my Monastic Diurnal (the old one) to church of a Wednesday evening, I
like to use its "Ant Mag" and its collect at Evening Prayer. Its
collect often differs in that it invokes the saint's intercessions,
usually by asking God to hear the saint's prayers for us. One other
parishioner in particular is usually in attendance on BCP holy days
and has his MD with him.

But having to schlep my entire office with me back and forth leaves
little room for prayer books. :( I do have the new St. Augustine's PB
with me at all times, plus dozens more on my phone. But on the PBO or
MD. Or LSMFT.
