The Girl Scouts discontinued their Mariner Scouts back around 1960. My mother 
and grandmother enjoyed being scout leaders. I have great home movies of their 
troop spending the weekend on the Morgan (and also sailing in Long Island Sound) 
at Mystic Seaport.

My mother continued for awhile on the Long Island Girl Scout Council, but other 
than Suzanne's year or two in Brownies, my sisters had little interest, and Mom 
lost interest   after awhile as well.
