First, thank you for all your prayers for Christopher on his trip to Turkey. He got home yesterday, in one piece, but didn’t tell us until then that he & Clare had been present when the suicide bomb took place about a week ago – but they were unharmed. Seems they had taken a friend to the gathering (he’s OK), which is why they were there. Don’t know how close they were to “the action”, but he did say that they took someone to the hospital – it’s a small town with no hospital, and it takes awhile for ambulances to get there. He did say that there was no police presence – very unusual for such a gathering, and that there had been rumors that some sort of ISIS activity was possible in the area.

All this is 2nd hand, as I was out hiking most of yesterday and haven’t talked to him as yet.

And now the Turkish gov’t. has announce stepped-up activity against the Kurds, with little real reason for it, so do keep them in your prayers.
