situation with LA bishop moves forward

I have somewhat followed the progression of this through postings on the
HoB/D list (house of Bish/deputies) where I am a kibitzer.

What is lacking, IMO, is *any* info about the 'why' of the Bishop's
decision which leads me to possibly conclude that the bishop has knowledge
supporting his position. In today's Episcopal world individual
congregations are often so far removed from understanding that the building
is held by The Church Corporation, not the parishioners. Most folks 'in the
pew' are not interested or informed about their diocese or our denomination
at the national level, often to the point of abject ignorance. Even on the
HoB/D list I've been amazed to read almost all posts (many by priests)
condemning/criticizing the bishop and offering support, which in some cases
is over the top, to the parishioners of this church.

I'm beginning to have a personal opinion that the problem may lay squarely
on the parish which is why the bishop is not 'talking publicly'. Many of
the posting priests on the HoB/D should realize that nothing is ever as
simple as it might seem in 'the church' (any church/ any denom) and that
often it is better not to air it publicly, which is not to say it won't be
eventually or should not be addressed except within the format that has been
scheduled - which the parish involved may not know what the panel is or what
it involves.
