I recall learning that the Jim Smith Club has many Jimmie Smith members who
are female. Jimmie is a perfectly good female name in the South (in the
North too, but not so many parents are so inclined to choose it for some
reason).
I am an honorary member because my direct ancestor is arguably the most
famous of all the Jim Smiths, and the only one to be played on the big
screen by The Duke. ("Allegheny Uprising")
