If you read the Scripture - as Walter Wink himself an gay activist says:  
The Scripture sees gay sex always in a negative light
 
Or Jeffrey John, a gay champion in the C of E says that the Children of God 
 (eg the Israelites) differed from other nations around them in that for  
Israel gay sex was forbidden (based on OT teaching).
