Bp Curry is authentically charismatic...in the best sense of that word. He
draws people, inspires people and oozes the good news. He is also an
evangelist is the best and original sense of that word. He is a man of deep
joy and faith. I believe TEC will thrive under his leadership. I am so
thankful he was elected Presiding Bishop.

He has been a good friend to South Carolina as we have put ourselves back
together. In June 2013, the Province IV bishops held their meeting in
Charleston. Each new start missions who had been abandoned when Lawrence
parishes left was asked to do a 30 minute presentation of our development
in the first 8 months since the schism. Good Shepherd presented a history,
which was read by a variety of parishioners, and ended with a short video
of the faces of our church, the people with I Sing a Song of the Saints.
As the video ran, after two lines of the first verse, Bp Curry with his
rich baritone, began to hum. All joined in and the entire room sang the
last two verses. A holy moment for everyone in that gathering.

I am very excited and look forward to what God will do for TEC through
Presiding Bishop Curry's leadership.
