Not any more. It's funny how that happens. The American College of
Orthopaedics has changed the protocol. Again.

So check with your surgeon for revised instructions.

I did know a guy who had to have his knee replacements removed after
infection from a cat scratch, but he hadn't had his cat vaccinated against
that particular pathogen. All people with replacement parts (joints,
valves, corneas etc.) need to make sure their vets get the clue.
