I was attending a student recital at a college. A young lady was playing a
classical selection on the guitar. As she played an older gentleman
quietly moved up the aisle. He took a picture of her using a flash. It was
a Polaroid Land camera.* She never missed a beat, but I bet somebody got a
talking to on the way home.

To give credit, the audience did not react at all, perhaps because they
were just too stunned. I know I was.

* When you took a picture, it went "Whirrrrrrr-WHIRRRRRRRR-rrrrrr <clank!>"

I think we all felt enormous pity for the young lady -- and probably for
the father who only realized what he had done after it was too late.

That was one of those cat-by-the-tail moments, I think.
