[Magdalen] prayers for discernment

 A number of municipalities are allowing small (usually 5 or fewer) flocks
of backyard hens, but they must be housed under strict regulations. No
roosters, ever. My mother was raised in small towns in the Missouri Ozarks
and her family always kept chickens and frequently also a milk cow. She was
in college before she ever tasted a store-bought egg.
