Or in CCBR's case, the inclination of the PIC to please the newer members vs the 
dreaded dragon lady (who phoned Bishop +Walker to complain about such 
innovations as veiling the cross in Lent, not to mention the Romish  "hanging 
body" on a cross and numerous other such complaints.

The message in Garden City was that there were a lot of complaints about the 
PIC -- which made it much easier when the dragon lady and friends got him 
removed.

In short, Clergy might not have as much say as you think (unless being fired is 
a perfectly good option <g>).

(Not appreciating being put in the middle of such crap was one of the reasons I 
refused to continue as Warden or even active on Vestry.)).
