I heard sirens all night resulting no doubt from how many people there are in the world who forget that when rain (particularly light rain) first starts an oil slick is created on the roads.

A friend in Berzerkerly reported on IRC last night, maybe around or a
bit before midnight your time that they were getting drizzle, and had
been for a while.

What's good is that drizzle or light rain is good on the surface for the
plants in drought country, while not enough of a soaker or gully-washer
to saturate rootless soil and make mud-slides.
