Certainly Holy Apostles has been consecrated -- I believe twice -- after
it was
constructed, and after repairs following a disastrous fire some years ago.
Doesn’t
stop them from using it as a cafeteria to serve the homeless.>>>>>>>
This is not to denigrate the Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen, but to suggest
that using the church nave as a cafeteria isn't necessarily the only
way to go:
The nave cafeteria would not be permitted under Roman Catholic Canon Law.
for that denomination.
However,
that has not stopped them for being the largest kitchen for the USA
homeless
in the form of the CCUSA (Catholic Charities USA), as well as many
other services to the poor. Cf. The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul,
very active, for example in the City of Scranton, PA.
