At this point I will not go out on Thanksgiving simply because I am able to
cook and it just means that some other person would be waiting on me. When
I get to where I'm not, I'll think about it.

The church I attended last Sunday sponsors a parish/community Thanksgiving
dinner and I gather that a large percentage of the membership eats their
dinner there. If I were a member I might consider that.

The big Baptist church in my former neighborhood in Tennessee (not the big
"corporate" one downtown!) sponsors a dinner like that and offers takeout
plates for shut-ins. Some years back, when I was doing home health,
somebody in the agency got the bright idea of asking them if they would
mind giving dinners to some of our patients who were alone. They said
"Sure, the more we can help, the better!" and IIRC we ended up taking about
30 dinners to various patients.
