We've got reservations at Maggiano's Little Italy, in Skokie, on
Thursday for dinner.>>>>>

Probably the best idea, but going out to eat on Thanksgiving is not
anything I can persuade my spouse to do.

Instead it's to be a combination of a take home turkey feast from
the local Bob Evans Restaurant, and an additional small turkey
prepared here ("I like leftover turkey"). The Bob Evans Feast is
turkey breast, usually a corn dish, a green bean dish, mashed
potatoes and gravy, a great cranberry recipe, dressing, pumpkin
pie with whipped cream, and dinner rolls.

I find as I approach the octogenarian years that my appetite has
diminished considerably, so it's all academic to me.

I was amazed, a couple of years ago when I was in the rehab unit
over Thanksgiving, how well their kitchens did in preparing for some
300 inpatients. I heard lots of complaining, but I thought it was just
fine for Thanksgiving.
