I'm with you on this -- we tried eating out on Thanksgiving a few times when we
were in California, and I was never **really** satisfied about it. I always felt
that I was getting Peking Duck rather than Turkey as in Shepherd's story <g>.
Even worse, no leftovers . . . .
OTOH, back in State College, I always had a crowd -- mostly gay homeless kids
(thrown out by family when discovered to be gay), which was quite a production.
One year my parents and grandmother came to surprise me on Thanksgiving -- even
brought a turkey and food along because I’d been so non-committal about my plans
(wasn't telling the actual plans). Boy, was that a surprise all the way around!
?The church I attended last Sunday sponsors a parish/community Thanksgiving
>dinner and I gather that a large percentage of the membership eats their
>dinner there. If I were a member I might consider that.
At CCBR we always had a "Pre Thanksgiving Thanksgiving Dinner" the Saturday
before the day. I suspect that it **was** more than a few people.
Cheers,
Jim
