About two years ago a young lady started coming to Trinity.  She was
obviously suffering from some major illnesses.  We had talked and prayed
with her.  (She has a beautiful alto singing voice.) In talking with her,
we realized that her family was in denial about how ill she was.  Nothing
she did pleased her family.  Dawn was visiting her at her home and her
mother said to her "I have two girls, Becca is the oldest. After I gave
birth the second time, God finally sent us a perfect child."
(WTF?!?!?!?!?!?)

Last October she was horribly raped.  Her first call was to Dawn.  Dawn
investigated rapes when she worked in the Florida Keys for the State.  She
helped her through the rape kit, and all those exams.  We took her in
because the rapist doesn't know where we lived.  She has blossomed.  At
first it was "I'm sorry" this and "I'm sorry" that.  She is now getting
property medical care, thanks to Dawn, and feels safe for the first time in
her life!

Right around Christmas, I woke up from a good rest.  Did my morning
ablutions, and sat with Dawn and Becca in the living room.  After some
yakking, I asked, "Becca, did you ever think you were born in the wrong
family?"  She thought.  For a long time.  A slow tear came down her cheek,
and she said,  "I am so happy now.  Can you two adopt me?" [She's 25] We
can, in Missouri! Yay!  All the paperwork is being done and she will be our
daughter come about Christmas.

Becca has CVID, and takes an IV dose of imunogoblin (Sp?) about every three
week.  A nurse comes in to administer it. She also has Levi Hollister
Syndrome, and really bad ovarian cysts.  She's too young to have a
hysterectomy or an oopherectomy.

The legal system for adoption will take about three months.  Please pray
for Becca for the many illnesses she has.  Dawn and I are honored to be
parents again, and we love this young woman.  She has blossomed under our
care and tells us "I love you two so much!"
