There are some common sense gun regulations that ought to be implemented --
starting with closing the loopholes for gun shows and internet sales.

But more important, every gun manufactured or imported needs an ownership trail
with criminal and civil penalties up the ownership line if a gun is used in a
crime.

It does not infringe on gun ownership, but it would go a long way to keep guns
out of the hands of bad guys.

Gun owners whose guns are stolen could get off the hook by reporting stolen guns
within 24-48 hours and would also have the option of carrying liability
insurance.

It's a scandal of first magnitude that more than half the guns recovered in
crimes in New York City come from just !! that's ELEVEN!!!) gunshops in the
south. At the NRA'a bidding Congress passed a law preventing NYCPD from
investigating further or even asking local authorities to close the chops for
illegal sales.

None of this would infringe on the "right to bear arms" but I think would help
tremendously.

Cheers,
Jim Guthrie

PS Is there any American more evil (outside of prison) than Wayne LaPierre?
