Congrats, Sally.  And best wishes they end up a success.

The "whadaya know" is that today is Everett's first day at school with his first-ever glasses.  Yesterday afternoon when he put them on for the first time, he followed my direction to look up.  "Leaves!" he says in amazement.  "Yes, my son, trees now have leaves.  And sidewalks now have cracks, so walk carefully!"  (The eye doc is just nextdoor to where we live.)

As for cost, I hear you Sally.  But at least in our circumstance, my vision insurance through the county ( https://www.vsp.com ) has always been great, and at least nowadays the more popular frames are actually in the "covered" category, so Everett got a stylish set of frames, an exam, and an office (to list them backwards) for a grand total of $37.  AND, that can happen every year (if need or want be).

Now, my turn for an appointment.  Bi/tri/quad-focals for me.
