In thinking about the current world migrant situation, I am interestedly
following how and why other countries have vastly different policies and
approaches to this dilemma and where 'they're coming from'. I also think
that many of the European countries that are taking in the migrants either
have jobs for them or have social services in place that will enable them to
settle into their new society with enough support to go on to be productive.

So many of the stories we hear in the US about how balanced some of the W
European and Scandinavian countries are with employment, social structure
are wonderful, but they are also much smaller countries than the US with
perhaps more government control of many aspects of society in regard to
wager, medical costs, pensions, etc.

Our immigration 'debate' covers so many facets that are often not even
brought into the light of day. So, many people are unaware of the
complexity.

Legal immigrants
work visa with intent to have legal status
work or student visa holders who end up staying illegally
victims of persecution etc in foreign countries
victims of our own wars, or those emigrate as a reward for helping our
government/military
illegal immigrants
minor children immigrants
children born here to illegal immigrants or visiting foreigners

The immigration complexity almost always dances with our social services
funds which are under fire everywhere these days it seems.
